Later living developer and operator Untold Living has appointed a new chief executive.
Scott Orr has taken the reins at the business, which builds and runs integrated retirement communities with care for over-75s.
He succeeds Russell Jewell, who has moved to the role of senior advisor as part of a planned leadership transition. Mr Jewell led the business for three years.
Mr Orr has been with Untold Living since it launched in 2022. He previously served as investment director. He has 20 years’ experience in property investment and operations, including leadership roles in UK care home corporate development.
He spent six years as corporate development director at UK care provider HC-One. Prior to that he spent five years as assistant director of real estate corporate finance at Ernst & Young.
Untold Living is wholly owned by Matter Real Estate, a London-headquartered investment manager that invests in build-to-rent, senior living and affordable housing.
The company currently owns and operates one scheme, Chantry Court in Westbury, Wiltshire, which recently completed a £500,000 refurbishment.
Its pipeline includes three more retirement communities in Shropshire and Sussex. Its first new build community, Sundew Court in Newport, Shropshire, is set to open in summer 2026.
Untold Living is progressing plans for a new scheme in Eastbourne, East Sussex, with a Gateway 2 Building Safety Regulator submission due in November 2025.
It is also seeking approval for a development in Crawley, West Sussex, where a planning decision has been delayed since April 2023. Untold Living provides homes for sale, rent and shared ownership.
Mr Orr said: “As we advance our developments across the UK, our focus remains on creating high-quality communities that meet the evolving needs of older people and offer an alternative to traditional later-life living.”
Mr Jewell said: “Since 2022, the team has made significant progress in shaping Untold Living’s strategy and delivering on our vision.
“Scott has played a central role in that journey, and his deep sector knowledge makes him ideally placed to lead the business.”
