L&G Affordable Homes to build 122 homes in Lincolnshire

L&G Affordable Homes will develop 122 homes in Lincolnshire with grant funding from Homes England.

LinkedIn IHLL&G Affordable Homes will develop 122 homes in Lincolnshire with grant funding from Homes England #UKhousing

The for-profit registered provider has purchased land at Wainfleet Road in Boston, Lincolnshire to develop 85 homes for social rent and 37 for shared ownership.

It will work in partnership with developers Langcroft and Seagate Homes as well as Boston Borough Council, which currently has more than 1,100 households on its waiting list.

The project will be supported by £12m grant funding from Homes England.

The homes will comprise of a mix of one, two and three-bedroom houses and bungalows. They have been designed to achieve an Energy Performance Certificate rating of B, incorporating air source heat pumps, photovoltaic panels and charging points, as well as plans to improve local biodiversity.

The for-profit will also work with non-profit housing association Housing 21, which is building a further 36 social rent bungalows for retirement living under the overall planning permission for the site.

L&G established its affordable homes division in 2018, providing social and affordable rent as well as shared ownership homes across England.

Anette Simpson, director of development and partnerships at L&G Affordable Homes, said: “With support from Homes England, we’re delivering affordable, sustainable housing where it’s needed most.”

John Baxter, portfolio holder for housing at Boston Borough Council, said: “It’s fantastic that we can continue building strong relationships with registered providers like L&G Affordable Homes and Housing 21 to bring long-term economic and community benefits to our area.”

In Inside Housing Living’s exclusive survey of the fastest-growing for-profits in 2025, L&G Affordable Homes came second in the top 10 by completions for 2024-25, completing 1,408 homes last year. The for-profit started building 2,084 homes last year and expects to complete at least 1,300 homes in 2025-26.

Last month, the finance director of L&G Affordable Homes left the for-profit to join investor HSPG as chief financial officer.
